As a naturopath trained in biodynamic body psychotherapy, I will support you in discovering the cause(s) of your concerns and working out a solution that will bring about positive change.

GlowPraxisBerlin with Kate Abbott is a private practice and therefore, my clients pay for their sessions out of pocket: €80 for 60 minutes. If you have supplementary insurance or private health insurance that includes naturopath services, you are entitled to be reimbursed.

The chemistry between the therapist and the client is key to the success of any therapeutic process. I offer a free 15-minute online meeting to gain a first impression and answer any questions. Or book a 60-minute appointment at GlowPraxis Berlin using the contact form.

We can, of course, meet regularly online. However, this excludes the possibility of direct contact with your body.

About biodynamic body psychotherapy

Biodynamic body psychotherapy is a humanistic approach to supporting people with issues around personal growth and neurosis. Biodynamic body psychotherapists use methods like biodynamic massage (non-verbal psychotherapy), vegetotherapy with and without touch to increase awareness of what emotions the body has kept inside over the years, the safe release of repressed emotions through breathing, making sounds and/or moving and verbal psychotherapy to reactivate the client’s flow of energy, remove blockages caused by accumulated tension and restore a feeling of mental and physical well-being.

Why “with touch”? Important hormone systems in the body, like oxytocin, endorphins, neurotransmitters and cortisol, react to touch. Touch and holding can be a highly effective means of calming anxiety and supporting the feeling of inner strength. Touch can confirm the client’s feeling of vibrancy and being in contact, and it can call up into consciousness the experiences that the body has stored. Touch is a non-verbal dialog that can reveal previously unknown emotional associations – unknown because they are reactions to situations that occurred before the client had words to describe the feelings.

Biodynamic body psychotherapy is based on the humanistic assumption that everyone has a natural drive towards well-being and emotional authenticity. However, this drive can be blunted or repressed in a person to ensure that they function in the world they inhabit. Repeated repression leads to emotional distress; groups of muscles contract permanently to form a sort of armor that keeps the person able to function in their world and without interference from their emotions.

 Gently and slowly, the body psychotherapist melts the armor and the emotions can be expressed and integrated. While the natural flow of energy is being restored, painful emotions or memories might surface and need to be expressed by drumming, making noises, breathing loudly or stomping, for example. Any means of expression that finally connects the emotion with the person’s body and consciousness and enables them to remember and feel the connection is welcome.
